Four musicians meet in March 2011 and form the music group dorόs. They
introduce original musical compositions with improvisation as their core
feature, and emphasize communication through expression and vice versa.
Contact and interaction with musical traditions from different
geographical areas within and outside the Greek borders alongside
elements from western music, create a new audio platform.
Udu, darbuka, bendir, cajon, lute, lavta, oud, ney, kaval, clarinet, guitar, pianika, kalimba, make up the sound canvas.
To date they have performed on stage in various venues of Athens, they have participated in a Street Theatre Festival and the European Day of Music. Recently they cooperated with the composer Nikos Xydakis for the performance “Rue Lepsius – a musical portrait of Kavafis”.
